Join us for an exlusive screening of Bad Indian (2025). Through heartfelt interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and performances, the documentary celebrates the stories, struggles, and successes of Indigenous comedians who use humor as a powerful tool for cultural expression, healing, and resistance.

The docmentary’s creator, Jeff Stonic, will join us to introduce the project, and will stay to host a Q & A session after the screening to share insights and reflections on the creation process.

Fresh off its award-winning appearance at SeriesFest, watch the not-yet-released "Bad Indian"—a groundbreaking documentary that delves into the vibrant and resilient world of Native American comedians. Through heartfelt interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and performances, this series celebrates the stories, struggles, and successes of Indigenous comedians who use humor as a powerful tool for cultural expression, healing, and resistance.

From urban comedy clubs to tribal community centers, Bad Indian showcases how Native humor thrives in diverse settings, often challenging stereotypes and addressing issues like identity, colonization, and representation with wit and authenticity.

The documentary also traces the rich tradition of humor in Native cultures, demonstrating how laughter has been a source of strength and survival through generations. Featuring interviews with elders, contemporary comics, and rising stars, "Bad Indian" offers an intimate look at the intersections of comedy, identity, and resilience.

Presenter Bio

Jeff Stonic is a Denver-based multidisciplinary creative known for his work in filmmaking, photography, comedy, and writing. His style is described as “beautiful chaos,” blending intimate visuals with bold expression. He directed the 2025 documentary Bad Indian, which explores themes of identity and resilience, and is currently being featured at festivals including SeriesFest and LA Skins Fest.
