What happens when our resilience is worn down yet the fight against injustice rages on?
In this panel discussion, former consultants and directors share their experiences navigating burnout after leading “DEI” work at large companies and public agencies.
Session Description
How do we continue to fight and challenge the structures of injustice, when they are designed to deplete our energy and make us believe things are hopeless and we are helpless? How do we recover from work in which we were set up to fail? How de we engage in community care when we are burned out?
In this panel discussion, former consultants and directors share their experiences navigating burnout after leading “DEI” work at large companies and public agencies. Panelists will share their personal experiences and perspectives on “resilience,” the importance of processing personal and collective grief, the pitfalls and challenges of a career fighting for justice within capitalist bureacracies, and what helps them hold on to hope for the future.
